A Compact Size Antenna for Extended UWB with WLAN Notch Band Stub

An ultra-wideband (UWB), geometrically simple, compact, and high-gain antenna with a WLAN notch band is presented for future wireless devices. The printed on the top side of Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 substrate has small dimension 10 mm × 15 0.254 mm. primary radiator proposed coplanar waveguide-fed monopole comprised rectangular-shaped structure initially modified using slot, its bandwidth further enhanced by loading Y-shaped radiator. As result, offers –10 dB impedance matching 11.55 GHz ranging from 3–14.55 GHz, covering globally allocated C-, S-, X-band applications. Afterward, another rectangular stub loaded in to mitigate UWB spectrum, final notched spanning 4.59 5.82 GHz. Moreover, validate simulated results, hardware prototype built measured, which exhibits good agreement results. Furthermore, work compared state-of-the-art antennas similar applications demonstrate design significance, as it compact size, wider bandwidth, stable gain characteristics.
